I spent over 600 on DOS 5 platform in 1995 and yet had to pay for Win98, Win7, Win8 and Win10 when they rolled out.

I was stupid and upgraded for no good reason other than OCD and look what I got. If you like data logging, like knowing engine coolant temp or auto tranny temp or transaxle temp or EGR info or exhaust temp or air intake temp or your oil pressure, kiss them goodbye when you update ( which I have no doubt you'll be required to do in near future.) or hold-off updating as long as you are able. I used these monitoring PIDs all the time. They also confirm that, oh yeah, the newest devices have ram to run these bigger files for data acquisition or logging. I was confirmed that those of us with this device will no longer have Data Logging option.

This is called forced upgrade to generate revenue and is utterly wrong. I bought this device partly because of this option. The support person asked some ' engineer' and they confirm that with version 3.5.8 of their software, the device firmware upgrade eliminates the Data Acquisition or Data Logging function. As sold a feature of the device + these also were an updated purchase on the FlashCal devices, those of us that have these and run the latest software version will no longer be able to monitor their system nor engine via the Data acquisition /Data Logging menu item that the device came with.
